Lodge Lore

June 2018

Michele smiling at the cameraHi:

Welcome back to Lodge Lore which offers me a way to communicate with all of you in the community. I am Michelle Headrick and have been the administrator at The Lodge at Sherwood Village since we opened.  We have been busy as always here at The Lodge and I want to bring you up to date on our many activities and some of the changes at The Lodge.

We always strive to keep our Lodge community current. From the day thirteen years ago when we first opened our doors, we have endeavored to bring our community and residents the very finest in retirement living.  This spring we have been busy updating and renovating the kitchens and bathrooms in our deluxe two-bedroom apartments. Esther Littlejohn with her flare for design has chosen the most beautiful new countertops and state of the art appliances.  We appreciate all her hard work and the beauty she brings to our community.

Now that spring is in the air we have put together a full roster of interesting activities for our residents. April Oldfield, our Activity Director, has been very “active,” as her job title suggests. Recently, she has arranged outings to Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, the lovely Whitney Gardens in Brinnon, and beautiful Port Gamble, a genuine “company town” originally built to support the local lumber and sawmill business but following the mill’s closure restored by the company in 1996 as national historic landmark. If you haven’t seen it you must plan a visit.

On July 12, we are looking forward to our annual Anniversary Open House, where we will welcome visitors to enjoy tours of The Lodge, eat fabulous desserts, and listen to the vocal stylings of our special guests the Sweet Adelines and the Messengers. You won’t want to miss them or Sequim’s famous Lavender Festival the following week. And, don’t forget to stop by our Bistro for a special lavender beverage during the festivities.

I also want to remind you of some special in-house services available at The Lodge.

  • The Lodge Chiropractic and Integrated Wellness Center where three massage therapists offer a variety of massage types.
  • The Hairloft where the staff can give you a new hairstyle for summer.
  • The Nail Cottage for a manicure or pedicure now that sandals are coming out of the closet.

Please call or come by for a tour, use our on-site services or attend our Open House on July 12th.
